Access, admission and cut-off: three different scores
PAU conversations often mix three different numbers. Separating them helps you make better choices and prevents treating a calculator as a place guarantee.
Access score: the base out of ten
For the Bachillerato route, 60% of the school average excluding Religion combines with 40% of the access-phase average. The phase must reach 4 and the combination 5. Strong school grades do not remove the exam threshold.
Admission score: the competitive figure
Add the two valid contributions that help most for the chosen degree. These are not necessarily the highest raw grades: an 8 weighted 0.2 adds more than a 10 weighted 0.1. One applicant can have different admission scores for different degrees.
Cut-off score: a historical outcome
This is the score of the last applicant admitted in a particular allocation and quota. It depends on places, demand and grades. Last year's figure is a reference, not a predetermined outcome for the next cycle.
What to check
Identify year, university, degree, route and quota. Consult the official weighting table and check which subjects from your sitting are eligible. Record the access date. Contact the admissions office for individual requirements; this site does not replace official decisions.
Other routes
For eligible higher vocational qualifications, the cycle average is the base and valid admission contributions may be added. Foreign qualifications and age-based entry routes have their own rules, not evaluated by these calculators.
